Mission in Mandevu, Lusaka, Zambia

Margaret Ogilvie and her husband Bill have been involved with a mission to support Church of Central Africa Presbyterian (CCAP) Schools in Zambia. As a Presbyterian church they consider the Church of Scotland as their Mother Church. Below is a short article detailing the work that has been done and continues to be supported by members of Kinloss and Findhorn Church. If you would like more information or to get involved please contact Margaret Ogilvie on 01309 690385 or by email margaret@livingrichly.co.uk

“8 years ago, Bill and I stayed with CCAP church members in a compound within which was Mandevu School, Lusaka. It is one of several offered by CCAP in Zambia for poor or orphaned primary age children. There were few books or learning materials, but the children were delightful, well behaved and really enjoyed learning. They achieved well in national tests and although many wanted to continue to secondary school, most parents could not afford the fees. The photographs shown are from that time. Since then, we have continued to support the schools and, over the years, members of Findhorn and Kinloss Church have contributed both learning materials and money. We are delighted that, this year, 14 people from the church have ‘adopted’ a child and are paying the fees of £130 a year to see their child through secondary education.”
